Governor Rendell's Visit Continued
PITTSBURGH (03/08/2005) -
After the intermission of the Governor's visit, we had a number of speakers on behalf of early education. Dr. Roslynne Wilson, Superintendent of the Woodland Hills School District, gave an educator's viewpoint of early education. Since the 4 Kids Early Learning Center houses a Woodland Hills kindergarten, Dr. Wilson knows first-hand the benefits of programs like 4 Kids. We also welcomed Murry Gerber, Chairman, President and CEO of Equitable Resouces, Inc. and Lisa Silberman of the A.J. Silberman Company in presenting "The David G. Silberman Award 4 Kids 4 Community" to Senators Jay Costa and Sean Logan and State Representative Paul Costa. Lastly, Marge Petruska from the Heinz Endowments was eager to announce the creation of a one million dollar endowment presented to Heritage Health Foundation and 4 Kids Early Learning Centers to use up to $50,000/year in operating costs. What an amazing day at the 4 Kids Early Learning Centers in Braddock!!! |
