PITTSBURGH (11/28/2003) - The Department of Public Welfare is now requiring all early learning centers to create an Emergency Management Plan. This plan will include responses in case of a variety of emergencies - both natural and other disasters.

All locations already have First Alert Emergency Radios. Each site will have its own plan, which will be collaborative efforts. The police and fire departments, UPMC Braddock, borough mayors, WorkLink, parents, and staff will all participate in the planning process. The first meeting will be in January.

All parents will receive a copy of the plan upon completion.
