4 Kids Receives Books from A.J. Silberman & Co.

PITTSBURGH (01/23/2004) - At this fall's Three Rivers Wine and Dine Festival, 4 Kids was chosen by A.J. Silberman & Co. to receive a donation of $10,000 in children's books. To thank them for their generosity, 4 Kids invited the Silberman family, On-Q, and celebrity guests to a special event.

On January 23, the children at the 4 Kids location at 404 Braddock Avenue were treated to stories, along with milk and cookies. We were fortunate to have a number of celebrity readers. They were:
David Silberman, of A.J. Silberman and Company; Marvin Hamlisch, Principal Pops Conductor for the Pittsburgh Symphony; Marilynn Brooks, of WTAE; Dr. Stan Herman, former superintendant of the Woodland Hills School District; Mimi Priselac, of UPMC Braddock, and Dr. Ron Grimm, current superintendent of the Woodland Hills School District. The stories read were taken from the books presented to 4 Kids by A.J. Silberman and Company.

The festivities, as well as interviews with 4 Kids families and staff, were filmed by On-Q. The news story featuring 4 Kids will air on Tuesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. on WQED. It will be replayed at 11:30 that night, and again at noon on Wednesday, February 4.
