4 Kids Celebrates Science
PITTSBURGH (07/21/2004) -
On Wednesday, July 21, 4 Kids children spent the morning celebrating science on our playground. As part of our math and science grant through the American Honda Foundation, and environmental awareness grant from the R.J. Wean Foundation, staff organized the Super Summer Science Celebration.
Infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged summer campers all participated. They made ice cream with the Carnegie Science Center, read stories, met birds from the National Aviary, and blew bubbles. Children made fossils with the Carnegie Museum, played bingo and duck pond, met P.J. from Animal Friends, and rolled the color dice. Everyone won prizes, and had goldfish and animal crackers and juice for a snack.
Staff took a lot of pictures of this wonderful event. Please see this story, and the two subsequent one, to see how much the children enjoyed all of the activities.
